On June 21st, according to the "Notice of the Provincial Energy Bureau on Carrying out Pilot Demonstration Work of New Energy Storage Power Stations" (E Energy Equipment (2023) No. 6), after strict screening and evaluation, Hubei New Energy's "Yingcheng 100MW/200MWh Iron Based Fluid Energy Storage Project" was included in the pilot demonstration list of new energy storage power stations in Hubei Province in 2023.
This project is an important step for Hubei New Energy Company to implement the national carbon peak and carbon neutrality strategy, steadily promote the green and low-carbon transformation of energy, and take the construction of a modern new power system.
Strong industrial driving force
The total investment of the project is about 710 million yuan, using exclusive patented technology from Hubei Province and relying on regional resource industry advantages to build a strong chain, driving the rapid growth of iron-based liquid energy storage related industries and contributing to the cluster development of the industrial chain.

The company has jointly developed iron-based liquid flow technology with Huazhong University of Science and Technology and Ju'an Energy Storage Wuhan Technology Co., Ltd., successfully creating energy storage products with more economic efficiency and more application scenarios, providing necessary support for enhancing the core competitiveness of energy storage in Hubei Province, and is of great significance for promoting the revolution of energy storage technology.
Good demonstration effect
The project belongs to the first batch of large-scale all iron based liquid flow energy storage bases in China, with characteristics such as high safety, high efficiency, low cost, long service life, and recyclability. It is an important means to achieve energy conservation and emission reduction, prevent "wind and light waste", and "peak shaving and valley filling" in the power grid. It can effectively assist the high-quality and large-scale development of clean renewable energy in Hubei Province, as well as the high-quality and stable operation of the power grid.
In order to promote the orderly, efficient, and stable implementation of demonstration projects, the company collaborates with Ju'an Energy Storage to establish a holding subsidiary, "Hubei Green Energy Storage New Energy Co., Ltd.", and adopts a stepped verification method to propose a pilot project of "the world's first megawatt level all iron liquid flow energy storage", providing scientific research support for steadily advancing demonstration projects, and striving to officially start the demonstration project in August this year. Next, the company will continue to leverage the advantages of the provincial state-owned asset platform industry to create a leading technological innovation highland and strategic emerging energy storage industry cluster in the country, and cultivate new driving forces for the economic and social development of Hubei Province.
